Nicki Beale

Partner & Family Solicitor

Nicki is a specialist family lawyer with over 40 years of experience dealing with complex financial and children disputes. She is also a committed member of Resolution.

Nicki’s comprehensive knowledge of family law enables her to advise her clients clearly and sufficiently to provide a clear strategy for all aspects of the case.

Nicki has many years of experience on all family issues including Separation/Divorce, Finances, Children,
Unmarried Couples, Cohabitation disputes, and Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements.

Nicki’s ability to get to the root of issues quickly and see the bigger picture is an enviable skill. Her lengthy career and a particular interest in complex financial matters, has provided her with extensive experience in dealing with complex, technical and multi-asset & jurisdictional financial issues arising from a relationship breakdown.

Nicki’s career has been built on a solid understanding of the needs of her clients and provides a firm but friendly and approachable service to all clients.

Nicki always works to secure a fair outcome for all of her clients preferably through negotiated settlements including supporting clients across a range of non court dispute resolution methods. However, where this is not possible she is an expert in securing the best outcome possible through Court proceedings. Nicki works closely and considers the broader team that may be needed to support a client in their journey, whether that’s pension experts, IFAs divorce consultants.

Q&A with Nicki Beale

Can you tell us about your background and experience?

I joined a firm of solicitors in 1984 and having become a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, I left the practice to take my Law Society Law Finals, returning to my previous firm a year as a  qualified Solicitor . I subsequently joined a practice in Cambridge where I became Head of Family and a partner. With a young family I returned to the London area to continue my career as a Consultant Solicitor in family law, until Emma and I set up NE Family Law in 2021.

What inspired you to specialise in family law?

The wish to help people to navigate and get through difficult times and to guide them towards being able to enjoy a happier and brighter future.

How do you approach working with clients?

Listening to be able to advise and ensure our clients feel that they’ve been heard and can always contact me when they need advice and support.

Why is getting legal advice when you separate or divorce so important?

Knowledge is the key to being able to make informed decisions and navigate and negotiate your way forward.

Most memorable work moment?

Most recent memorable work moment has to be the creation of NE Family Law with Emma. We have created a niche family law practice which as a team we believe truly serves the needs of our clients.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?

Learning to fly a light aircraft and getting lost mid-flight on my first solo flight.
